The skill to better understand past testimony can be the key to future success. This means taking the time to wade through a large amount of testimony to try to get a feel for the players involved. This process can be sped up through a live transcript reading from an actor. This can bring the words to life and help to get a feel for the person who spoke the words.

Knowing the people involved can lead to strategic choices and can prevent an attorney from falling into verbal traps. Having an actual human being represent the person on the transcript can add the voice, inflection, emotion and attitude behind the words and can better prepare the lawyer for examination of a witness.

MASK WORK
We utilize a concept in acting called Mask Work. The idea is that when you are playing a character, you can feel free to not be self conscious because the person behind the mask of the character isn't being judged. We can still play the guilt, remorse, deception, anger, or other qualities that the character would have, just without the person playing the character pre-judging their actions. This allows for a more accurate portrayal of role-playing. Non-actors don't understand that concept and can give their performance more of a flat feel.

Additionally, as improvisational performers we can adjust upon command to present the words with a different emotional context, pacing or inflection to better represent what you may feel would be an accurate representation of the circumstances of the transcript.
